intro to Rolfing

Rolfing is a therapy designed to re-align the body with gravity and to release the chronic stress held in the soft tissue. Done in a series of sessions a client’s body is capable significant transformation.

The soft tissue of the body is what pulls on the skeleton causing the posture to be imbalance. When the soft tissue (muscles and fascia) is released, the bones go back to where they are meant to be.

This blog is about the experience of being and Rolfed. The changes can be dramatic, so often clients need additional support in understanding what is occurring.

Many clients come to a Rolfer from other practitioners because the chronic tension in their soft tissue prevents them from benefiting from these other therapies. Rolfing is best used to treat chronic, old problems related to stress, soft tissue and structure (posture). Problems that are more acute are usually better treated by other therapies such as chiropractic or massage.
